Military Recruitment Down...YES!

According to an article today from MTV News, U.S. army recruitment is at it's lowest point since 1979. That's beautiful. Don't support this imperialist military. The saddest thing about this is the belief of the U.S. Army spokesman that the two biggest obstacles to their recruitment are the decreasing unemployment rate and the improving economy. Aren't these things that the government wants? Maybe the economy thing, but the more employed Americans there are the less poor kids there are signing up to be brainwashed, given poor equipment, and shipped overseas to protect American interests (read: the world's financial elite's interests...Iraqi oil and Afghani opium) and oppress a colored population in their own country. Excellent.

The arrogance of your underlying assumptions here is incredible. I have a feeling that there are many poor minorities in the military who would find your opinions to be condescending and just superficially wrong.

And I have a feeling that just about every poor minority there is wishing they had never joined the military and those in Iraq are feeling like they never wanna see a gun or Arab person or flying limb again.
