I'm Deb, and I'll be posting some of my thoughts this week, throwing in a little minority feminist independent perspective to the mix. By perspective, I mean things I'd like to say and discuss about the way things are at Harvard and in the "real" world, and why; minority because I hope to focus on the issues surrounding Asian Americans, ethnic or cultural organizations and women at Harvard; feminist because I believe that women are women and not men, and that the true meaning of the words "liberation" and "empowerment" have been lost in their abusive misuse, and independent because while I have come to know many different communities at Harvard, I don't identify or feel I hold views consistent with only one in particular, be it the Asian American community, the feminist community or the activist community.
