Hate speech, such as the lyrics composed by these twins, espouses cleansing society of its "less desirable" portions. These songs advocate white supremacy and the eradiction of all other groups. Messages like this infringe upon the freedom of everyone else in society to coexist peacefully and beneficially together.
That's silly. There is no such thing as "hate speech." Speech that's not offensive doesn't need to be protected -- you could say the only speech that really needs protection is hate speech. But freedom of speech is a beautiful thing -- only something so great as freedom of speech could turn something ugly (like these terrible songs) into something almost beautiful, namely the exercise of freedom.
ABC News (http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=1231684&page=2) has a much better and more comprehensive story on these girls and I think the girls don't merit much attention at all, but I do think there is a quote in the ABC news story that is worthy of discussion...
One of Sugg's [another white supremacist musician] songs is a fantasy piece about a possible future racial war that goes: "Let the cities burn, let the streets run red, if you ain't white you'll be dead."
"I'd like to compare it to gangsta rap," explained Sugg, "where they glorify, you know, shooting niggers and pimping whores."
Is there a substantive difference? Or perhaps a better question-- does the negative effect of both gangsta rap and white supremacist music outweigh whatever difference is inherant in the intentions?
There's a huge difference, one is talking about crime and the other is talking about a racial war. Both are undesirable and violent, but I think racial violence is a lot more dangerous and demanding of a response. Note I say "response" as in protests, public condemnation, and further discussion... NOT silencing them. In fact, I think the more people like this open their mouths, the more opportunity there is to expose the dangerous stupidity they represent.
It's also ironic that a white supremecist is comparing his music to rap, no?
i don't have much to add to this discussion, but have a question for all you commentors: why don't any of you have the balls to write your names? your ideas didn't fall from the sky, why don't you own up to them?
First off, I would like to add my two cents. If you look at what has already happened, both past and present, you can see that a war between the races is going to happen. I, for one, will protect my race and culture for the sake that any man of any race would protect what they know. It's just human nature. I feel that the only way to stop a race war would be separation. If you look at how society is going, as long as we live together we will always hate each other. It only takes one of any race to attack, rape, murder, rob, or make rude comments for the hate to start all over. If we don't live together this chance is reduced to about 5% or so. Some may argue about this. they may even say it's unnatural to separate, but it is actually how the world was before man found other forms of man. Less evolved forms, not so advanced, and part of a system that worked for them. Now all races of man are tossed in together and told get along, how the heck does that work? It doesn't! Man enjoys the company of others like himself more then others of different background and race. It's not just common sense, it's also nature and genealogy. Those who say they can find love in another race will always feel like they're missing something. But to put forth some harder proof that this world is in a cold race war, I'd like to point out that blacks talk about exterminated the whites just because we don't want to be around them and don't get any laws bashed on them, but when a white says put them on a boat and send them back it's a hate crime. Tell me, where is it ok for one to hate to the point to kill but the others can't feel the same? Also science has proven that the black genome is violent in nature. They'd rather be around family base groups and only leave the group to release stress and anger. Now how is a white man or woman suppose to deal with that? We just want to left alone, but blacks walk away from their kind to hurt others that are not part of the family. Grant it that does cry out family values, but how may others who have values that differ from that suppose to stay out of it? We can't as long as we live in a world that says we must live together. You can't compress millions of years of instincts for the sake of "getting along", it's just not possible. Lets take the animal kingdom for example, if you have two different species that came from two different parts of the world, genetics say you can cross breed them, do you think it's right to automatically assume that they can co-excites with each other without fighting for territory? No they can't! In do time they will fight and kill each other if need be and that's what is happening today. We can not live in peace. So if we separate, all races will live happier because the only hate they can grip would be hate for their own kind. Yes, I understand that one can hate the other from great distances but at least it wouldn't be happening right outside your front door where your children will be killed just because he/she is different. Those who wish to do the interracial thing can have their own little place away from all others. That way no one feels left out and no one can complain that they didn't get a chance at life. I'd like more then anything to grant me the right to protect my family and our culture and will do anything for it. Try to find someone of any background or race who wouldn't do the same. Before you start jumping white supremacist think about how many black supremacist that are out there thinking the same on how to save their race and way of life. All this can be solved if more people would wake up and realize that we can not live in peace with each other and separating would save us all. I know that I'll be mocked for the way i think and I expect it, but try to think from my point of view and what is happening around you before you yell racist, hater, or whatever my kind is called today. I seek peace, but if it's war I'll fight for my rights and the rights of my race. As for the twin girls, they're just singing in honor of their race and are showing that they are proud of it. Nothing wrong with that.
